The film opened at a small wide release in Australia, being shown on 85 screens. Her worst fears are confirmed when the parents try to harm Lily, their only daughter.

We then meet young Lilith who appears very shy and withdrawn and looks like she is secretly crying out for help.

I literally almost came out of my freaking skin at that part and peed myself!!!!!!!!! Please enter your birth date to watch this video: It's a while since Iv'e watched a film like this. Both of Lilith’s parents state that it’s “God’s will” that Lilith die.

The projectile vomiting, however, so often parodied, and more importantly, smiled upon, since the bodily function plays a big part in the modern comedy aesthetic, as a result, seems to have lost a lot of its initial shock value because moviegoers don't see the devil's bile anymore, they see pea soup. it looked like it had potential for a while there, but then it looks like someone, perhaps the screenwriter, director, or who knows, gave up on it 'working' and just quickly tied together loose ends so they could just put it out; a made for TV movie would have been a better target; what I really hated, was the ridiculous number of "pop-outs" in the movie; to use that trick is so lazy, lame, and overused if used only once but here it is used more than I had the patience to keep track of There's not much more scary than a young girl possessed by demons, doing freaky **** I liked this movie and not sure why it's gotten such negative reviews. I rewatched this movie a couple of days ago and forgot how great and f:&#ing scary this movie is! * The film follows Renée Zellweger as married-to-the-job social worker Emily Jenkins. SPOILER ALERT. WARNING: Spoilers. Since this is the devil we're talking about, Lilith probably wants to do more than talk.It should come as an immediate indictment of Case 39 that I have begun writing this review before it even ends. Social worker Emily Jenkins (Renée Zellweger) is assigned to investigate the family of ten year-old Lilith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland), as her grades have declined and an emotional rift with her parents has emerged. People around Emily are dying mysteriously.

Frightened for her life, Emily enlists the help of Detective Mike Barron and takes Lily in while she continues the search for the perfect foster family. Over an hour wasted on this poor excuse for a movie!! The film just isn't that interesting.

During one fright scene, she runs down the street wearing a skimpy T-shirt and shorts in the rain. And near the end of the film we see her take on her true demonic form. Lilith Sullivan, a slight, cow-eyed 10-year-old is the epitome of a wounded kid cowering quietly in the shadows.

***SPOILER ALERT*** I rented the movie on DVD and was surprised and disappointed with the DUMB ending that was used, especially after I watched the Special Features and saw the alternate ending. The story line was ok,but could have been more thought out. I want to say this is a very scary movie I really like the case in particular I feel it is not just a slash horror; like saw with a red and black faced mental crown called Jigsaw, it has a beginning middle and an end we know that the women is a social worker who takes on an case of a girl who it first appears the parents want her dead and are struggling to cope making me the viewer, thinking they have mental health problems but it appears the daughter is evil; and can make people die including her mothers brother she also has an very rather cold but demeaning way of how she speaks to adults she can be personal to adults feelings and emotions, also I would say that I found the ending well quiet unexpected a shock twist, of the social worker played excellently by Renee Zellweger and the girl at the end .
The movie was okay, but I hate the actress' whiny little girl voice.
