I saw her live in concert last year and she was unbelievable.

Delightful for fans, Perry's screen debut is a calculated but entertaining proposition. Absolutely bursting with energy, Perry's a fascinating singer, songwriter, and performer who's faced a fair amount of adversity in her career, and whose upbringing was very different than that of most pop stars. Any music fan or Katy Perry fan will love this. The film features interviews with Perry and her loved ones documenting the trajectory of her life, containing various clips from her childhood and teenage years as well as her career and personal life. For Perry fans, there's not much more you could ask for - but for non-devotees, it's a lightweight package. She put everyone in the world before herself that day and that takes heart and courage that precious few have. I like her a lot! Astonishingly enough, during the divorce from Russell Brand we get to see Perry break down moments before getting on stage for a giant concert and then do it all anyway, one of the most poignant moments of the film.
Although there are moments when the filmmakers' fingerprints are nearly visible on the manipulated putty of an audience, the scenes aren't enough to break the fruit-flavored spell.
