We thought this word-for-word enactment of the Gospel of John was so amazing that I ordered additional copies to give to several friends.

A truly great achievement in Bible-based movie making. Secondly, the research that has been done has made the sets, costumes and culture of the time as accurate as possible. But again, I enjoyed the movie and appreciated its faithfulness to scripture. I do recommend it to those who also appreciate faithfulness to scripture. It's really very well done. 13 mins into the film. It takes all the guess work out of the inflection/meaning of the words, and one's visualization of the settings; it makes the story so perfectly clear that it helped me understand the meaning of Jesus' message much better, which [depending on your perspective] is THE most important thing to ever happen on earth. its just absolutely fine - I have never read the gospel the whole way through and its surprised me as to its content and what is missed when the lectionary is used.

The acting, directing, writing, editing, music, and photography are all excellent. .Most Bible films are spoiled by a star cast which is too familar...the guy playing..Jesus then appears Star trek,the Exorcist. However, be aware that the actors do not speak their parts. For a start it uses His words from the Bible, and only from the Bible, so it is authentic. In this the most poetic of the gospels one can imagine that Shakespeare was inspired by such sophisticated language and nuanced meaning. And it says that John was sharing with the people the word of God.Then John sees Jesus and he tells two other disciples “that is Jesus”. Selva Rasalingam gives a fine performance as Jesus, and the sets and cast all look authentic.

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 29, 2012 I am so glad I watched this film and I want to thank every single person involved in the making of this film because it has literally changed my life.Henry Ian Cusick's portrayal of Jesus is so wonderful and meant a lot to me.This film has made me start going to church again after many years,and reading my Bible on a daily basis.It has opened my eyes to what is important in life, family friends and consideration to others feelings.Iam more confident,calmer and content.Some people might say it's just a film,but I say That it is so much more.When Jesus prays to the Father in the film,it was incredibly moving and powerful and had me in tears.All I can say is please watch it.I would have loved to write pages and pages and go into great detail about every wonderful thing that's happened to me since watching this film but I won't. This DVD presentation of The Gospel of John is a must watch for those wanting to experience an excellent portrayal of Jesus and his disciples through John's eyes. I seriously doubt that was the case.
